M\u00e1s que un simple gr\u00e1fico, este diagrama es una herramienta de an\u00e1lisis que condensa en una sola imagen el comportamiento energ\u00e9tico y t\u00e9rmico de un fluido cuando atraviesa diferentes procesos \u2014como expansi\u00f3n, compresi\u00f3n, condensaci\u00f3n o evaporaci\u00f3n\u2014 sin necesidad de recurrir a largas ecuaciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En refrigeraci\u00f3n se utiliza una variante del Diagrama de Mollier, conocido como <strong>p-h (presi\u00f3n-entalp\u00eda)<\/strong>, m\u00e1s pr\u00e1ctico y con c\u00e1lculo operativo. Los ejes principales son el horizontal (Entalp\u00eda) y el vertical (Presi\u00f3n), normalmente en escala logar\u00edtmica. Se utiliza principalmente para ciclos frigor\u00edficos, c\u00e1lculo r\u00e1pido de potencia frigor\u00edfica en el evaporador, trabajo del compresor, COP y es el diagrama pr\u00e1ctico por excelencia en HVAC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A diferencia de un gr\u00e1fico cartesiano convencional, el diagrama de Mollier integra varias propiedades termodin\u00e1micas simult\u00e1neamente. En \u00e9l se pueden leer, adem\u00e1s de la entalp\u00eda y la entrop\u00eda, otras magnitudes como la&nbsp;<strong>presi\u00f3n<\/strong>, la&nbsp;<strong>temperatura<\/strong>, el&nbsp;<strong>t\u00edtulo del vapor (calidad del vapor h\u00famedo)<\/strong>, e incluso el&nbsp;<strong>volumen espec\u00edfico<\/strong>. Cada familia de curvas o l\u00edneas representa una de estas propiedades, lo que permite identificar el estado exacto de una sustancia con solo dos coordenadas principales: h y s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creador del Diagrama de Mollier<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Este diagrama recibe su nombre del ingeniero alem\u00e1n&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/diagramademollier.com\/?page_id=65\">Richard Mollier<\/a><\/strong>, quien lo desarroll\u00f3 a principios del siglo XX para facilitar el estudio del vapor de agua y de los procesos de conversi\u00f3n de energ\u00eda en turbinas y calderas. Su aporte fue tan significativo que, en 1923, la Asociaci\u00f3n Internacional para las Propiedades del Agua y el Vapor (IAPWS) decidi\u00f3 que cualquier gr\u00e1fico con la entalp\u00eda como eje vertical deb\u00eda denominarse \u201cdiagrama de Mollier\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Su uso<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">M\u00e1s all\u00e1 de su uso t\u00e9cnico, el diagrama de Mollier tiene un valor conceptual importante: permite visualizar de manera intuitiva el&nbsp;<strong>intercambio energ\u00e9tico<\/strong>&nbsp;entre calor y trabajo en los procesos termodin\u00e1micos. Por ejemplo, una expansi\u00f3n en una turbina aparece como una l\u00ednea descendente (p\u00e9rdida de entalp\u00eda), mientras que la compresi\u00f3n en un compresor se observa como una l\u00ednea ascendente.
